1/17/14 - World Population Density

My son showed this to me the other day.  I was reminded of it as we were talking about population density in class, because the population of Egypt is very dense along the Nile.  It is because within miles of either side of the Nile is desert.

As I was searching for population density maps, I found lots of questionable content and ads.  This one is a little sketchy, as it seems to linked to survivalists!  But the maps are good.

If you ever find anything objectionable on these links I post, let me know, because you can find a site that is 99% terrific with great information, but the 1% can be horrendous!

South East Junior High Registration: At 9:30 a.m. in the library on Tuesday 1/21, a representative from South East Junior High will come to Lemme and present information about the registration process.  Parents are welcome to attend.  There is a parent meeting going over the registration procedures on January 28th at SEJH in the Large Group Room at 6:00 p.m.

South East Junior High Math Registration Form:  Went home yesterday.  Thanks to those that have sent them back!  It has class recommendations for 7th grade, based on Iowa Assessment scores and ICCSD placement test scores.

If you disagree with the placement, there is a reconsideration form on the reverse.
Please return the form to me by TUESDAY 1/21.

1/10/14 - Terracotta Warriors

In language arts, we read a story about one of the most amazing archaeological finds in recent history: the Terracotta Warriors in China.  Found by some farmers digging a well in 1974, it is truly amazing.  Check out these links:
