2/28/11 - Coached For Life

Just finished the book Coached for Life. It is about a pair of coaches of a football team in Montana, 1962, and how they influenced their players throughout their lives.

I highly recommend it. But that's not why I posted this.

Near the end of the book, there is a 40 year reunion of the team. All the players are there, and they have all told there stories, and finally the mic goes to the old coach. He says a few words, but this is what he says that really made an impact on me: "It is a privilege to coach another man's son." He goes on to say that many times he was spending more time with a kid than his own parents.

So I say, "It is a privilege to teach your children!"
